“Under Her Skin” is a psychological thriller set against the backdrop of New York City. Lana moves to New York excited to start a new life and in hopes of escaping her overwhelming grief over her mother’s death. The only problem is, her mother is still alive and Lana’s lived in New York all her life.
After a couple of personal run-ins a few years ago with people with borderline personality disorder, I got very interested in telling a story about someone who is a charismatic person, a good friend, but who can believe in multiple, contradictory stories. She believes in the she’s telling. I’m fascinated by the idea of a person who seems normal, and you get sucked into their version of reality because it’s so enticing and their belief in it is so complete.
